PA AFL-CIO Endorses Preston Nouri for Congress

Nouri Blasts Mike Kelly’s Anti-Worker Agenda

Erie, PA – Democratic Congressional candidate Preston Nouri received the endorsement of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO for his positions on issues supporting workers and growing the middle class. The state labor federation is made up of labor unions representing hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvania workers, and the organization fights for workers such as securing the right to collectively bargain, fair wages, working conditions, and benefits.

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO. The middle class built our country, and our unions built the middle class,” Nouri said. “I’m running for Congress because our region needs someone who will fight for workers by investing in apprenticeship programs, improving our infrastructure, and working to bring manufacturing back. In Congress, I’ll fight to make health care and prescription drugs more affordable, and I’ll always stand with workers who want to organize and join a union.”

“Unfortunately, Mike Kelly has made looking out for wealthy individuals like himself his only policy priority, and the families of Western PA are paying the price. Kelly is so out of touch with our community that he opposed bi-partisan legislation to improve our infrastructure and even voted against bringing chip manufacturing back to the United States from China,” Nouri said.

“Mike Kelly is a failed Congressman. The only thing he’s accomplished in Congress is passing a special tax break for car dealers like himself; he is his top priority in Congress, and he could care less about the people he’s supposed to represent,” Nouri added.

Nouri is involved in the community in several ways, both as a small-business operator and volunteer. Preston founded and runs Lawrence Park and Go, a small convenience store in Lawrence Park, Erie, which served as an essential business throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. He also participates in community outreach and service with the Community Outreach Group, and has helped support the various efforts of service on which the group focuses.

Nouri resides in Fairview Township in Erie County.
